Pipe Dreams

by Tony Esposito

A gay teenager, Tony, has to face the haunting figure of his now-deceased father. The theme is not new. But the sorrow and the struggle implied are still valid and rich materials for a play.

That is what we are invited to share with the cast of Pipe Dreams. Written by
Caleb Yong and Alan Gordon Jr. (who also plays Tony), the play traces, through time, a parallel betwen the struggle of the immigrant father and the tension of the gay son, both searching for their right place in the scheme of things.

Bittersweet & Co., the producer, is a youth theatre project, comprised of teenage members, aiming at gay youth and youth in general (but that doesn't mean "older" are excluded).

Original run: Pipe Dreams, by Caleb Yong & Alan Gordon Jr., directed by Caleb Yong. With Alan Gordon Jr., Nathan Adams and Greg Legros. At the Tallulah's Cabaret of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. August 6th to 8th, 1998
